When you put it all together, histopathology refers to the study of damaged tissues. Histopathologists will evaluate tissue samples obt ained from doctors or by the histopathologists themselves. A histopathologist may need to chop the tissue sample into smaller pieces to examine under a microscope. They will then prepare the tissue sample into a slide by sandwiching it between two small glass pieces for examination under a microscope. After evaluating the specimens, a histopathologist will produce a report on what they saw in the biopsies, including whether or not the tissue appears normal.
