Histopathology is the study of body tissue under a microscope to look for signs and characteristics of disease. The Department of Histopathology offers a full range of pathology tests and services, including a wide range of immunohistochemical (IHC) markers. Specialty areas include dermatopathology, gastrointestinal, thoracic, head, and neck, endocrine, renal, dermatopathology, etc. Cytology is the examination of tissue cells or body fluids to make a diagnosis.
